Almost 42 thousand foreign workers were enrolled in the economic migration programs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade this year!

Due to the COVID pandemic and travel restrictions, government economic migration programs (KEY AND RESEARCH STAFF PROGRAMME, HIGHLY QUALIFIED WORKER PROGRAMME, and QUALIFIED WORKER PROGRAMME) are the main way to employ foreigners from third countries.

The first two programs are designed for highly skilled workers such as IT specialists or engineers, the third program is designed for medium and less qualified workers such as drivers or assembly workers.

The capacity of the programs is more than 50 thousand spots per year, although most of the capacity is intended for workers from Ukraine (40 thousand foreigners).

In 2020, more than 26 thousand foreigners were involved in the programs, despite significant travel restrictions. This year almost 42 thousand foreign workers enrolled so far.
