All foreigners are obliged to register at the Foreign Police upon arrival to the Czech Republic. For EU, EEA nationals this rule applies when they are intended to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 30 days. Third-country nationals (countries other than the EU member states, EEA: Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) are obliged to register their accommodation address in the Czech Republic with the nearest Foreign Police Department within 3 working days of entering the Czech Republic.
Registration must be completed in person.
Registration is not required, if you stay in an accommodation facility such as a hotel, hostel, etc. Also, does not apply to persons under the age of 15.
If you have arrived in the Czech Republic to pick up a long-term or permanent residence card, you may perform your obligation of registration at the Ministry of Interior, where you may also provide your biometric data.
When registering at the Foreign Police foreigners must present a valid travel document and a completed registration form. Present a confirmation of accommodation and travel insurance if required.
